Tariffs

Unless otherwise stated, prices are listed per room per night and include breakfast. Tariffs are based on two people in a twin or double room and one person in a single room. Extra charges will be made for more than two people in a double or twin room. Some tariffs also include dinner in which case drinks are not included and a supplement may be payable for certain items. Breakfast is available from 8:00am to 10:00am and dinner from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. No refund shall be payable for a missed meal.

Best Rate Guarantee

When you book with us direct and not through on online travel agent we guarantee to give you the lowest possible price at the time of booking. If you find a lower price for the same room on another website, get in touch with us right away. We will match the lower price as long as the following conditions are met:

  1. You have contacted us within 24 hours of making your booking and given us full details of the website where you found the lower rate including the rate name and price.
  2. The other rate can be booked online and is still available.
  3. The other rate is essentially the same as your booking with us. This means:
    1. The rate is for the Glenisle Hotel
    2. The same room type.
    3. The same arrival and departure dates.
    4. Identical terms and conditions (such as cancellation policy and items included in the rate (for example: breakfast, meals, ferry crossing or any other extras))
  4. The other site does not hide the exact property and/or room type until after you have booked.
  5. The other rate does not involve using
    1. Special membership rates
    2. Frequent Stayer Rates
    3. Loyalty Points
    4. Any other rewards programme
If we can't match the lower rate because one of the above conditions is not met, you still keep your existing reservation – including the rate and cancellation policy.

Making a Booking

You will be asked to guarantee your booking with a valid credit or debit card. Except in the case of discounted bookings, no payment is taken from your credit or debit card at the time of booking. Payment is taken on departure or in the event of cancellation other than in accordance with our cancellation terms. See under 'Cancellations and Amendments' below for details on cancellations.

Special Offers

Special Offers require full payment at the time of booking and no refund will made in the event of cancellation. Because of this and because stormy weather can disrupt ferry sailings, it is strongly advised that you have travel insurance should you need to cancel your stay at the Glenisle Hotel for any reason or are unable to get to Arran due to cancellation of the ferry services.

Supplementary Charges

The total tariff for your stay will be set out in your reservation confirmation. For the avoidance of doubt, the tariff does not include any incidental charges which you may incur during your stay (including, by way of example only, your use of the hotel's restaurant, bar and the costs of external telephone calls from your room). Such charges will be payable by you on your departure and, in the event that you fail to pay any such incidental charges, it is a condition of your contract with Arran Hotels that you irrevocably authorise Arran Hotels to debit your credit or debit card for the amount of any shortfall.

Check In/Check Out

Hotel rooms are normally available from 2:00pm on the day of arrival. On arrival you may be asked to produce a valid debit or credit card for the hotel to take the card's details. Rooms must be vacated by 10:30am on the day of departure, unless otherwise sanctioned at the discretion of the hotel manager. If the room is not vacated by the checkout time, we reserve the right to charge you for an extra night's accommodation. Prior to your departure from the hotel you will be required to settle your bill. Arran Hotels accept most major credit and debit cards, including MasterCard, Visa, Maestro, American Express, Delta, and Connect.

Cancellation and Amendments

All cancellations or amendments, either before or after check-in, must be made in accordance with our cancellation terms. Where a cancellation or amendment, either before or after check-in, is not made in accordance with our applicable cancellation terms, we reserve the right to charge you the total tariff for your booking.

Discounted bookings and/or Special Offers may have different cancellation policies. See Special Offers

For bookings over the Christmas/New Year period (any stay which includes a night between 23 Decebmer and 31 January, inclusive) any cancellation or amendment notified to us less than 30 days prior to arrival or after you have checked in - the total tariff for your booking will be charged in full.

Our terms for cancellations or amendments for bookings which are neither Discounted Bookings, Special Offers nor over the Christmas/New Year period are as follows:-

The following cancellation terms apply to bookings made directly with the Glenisle Hotel. Bookings made through a third party (online travel agent, travel agent, tour organisor etc.) may have a different cancellation policy. In this case, the cancellation policy of the third party will apply.

For bookings made directly with the Glenisle Hotel -- where cancellation or amendment is notified to us:

  • 14 days or fewer prior to arrival or after you have checked in - the total tariff for your booking will be charged in full.
  • more than 14 days prior to arrival - no charge will be made.

In the unlikely event that we have to change or cancel your reservation, we reserve the right to do so.

Best Cancellation Guarantee

When you book direct with the Glenisle Hotel, we are confident that we offer longest free cancellation period available anywhere for our rooms. See Cancellation and Amendments for our Cancellation Policy. If you find a more generous cancellation period on another website, get in touch with us right away. We will match the better cancellation policy as long as the following conditions are met:

If you have not booked directly with the Glenisle Hotel, but have booked through a third party (online travel agent, travel agent, tour organisor etc), the cancellation terms of the third party will apply.

Ferry Bookings made through the Glenisle Hotel

Let us booking your ferry crossing for you. For the Bed & Breakfast tariff and for some discounted tariffs we can even offer a discounted rate on ferry bookings which we make for our hotel guests. The following conditions will apply:

  • Some tariffs include the ferry crossing. When adding the ferry to bookings which are not "ferry includsive", discounted rates are only available for tariffs which mention "Discounted Ferry Travel" on stays booked directly with the Glenisle Hotel. Bookings made via a third party (online travel agent, tour organisor, etc.) are not eligible for discounted ferry travel.
  • All sailings are subject to availability.
  • The ferry provider's (CalMac) Terms & Conditions will apply.
  • The discounted rate applies to sailings between Ardrossan and Brodick. The rate includes one return crossing for one car of less than 5 meters in length and up to two passengers. We can also offer a discounted rate for extra passengers or foot passengers.
  • The ferry crossing cannot be confirmed until we have received details of your car make and model (or confirmation that it will be a hire car). The ferry operator also requests a mobile telephone number, if possible.
  • To make the ferry booking we need to give the ferry operator: the make of your car, the car registration number (or confirmation that you will be driving a hire car), your preferred sailing, number of passengers. The ferry schedule is available at: www.calmac.co.uk. The ferry operator will confirm the sailing time about 7 days before your arrival date. Your ferry tickets will be at the Ardrossan Ferry Terminal. To collect them, please give your surname and the hotel name, you will receive both outward and return tickets at the time of check-in.
  • The ferry is operated by Caledonian MacBrayne and you must comply with their requirements for the ferry sailing. See their web site for more information about the ferry service: www.calmac.co.uk
  • Please note that you must check in for the ferry at least 30 minutes before sailing time. If you arrive late you may not be allowed on that ferry.
  • Once the ferry booking is made it may not be possible to change it. This will be at the discretion of the ferry operator. If the ferry operator imposes a charge for any cancellation or ammendment this charge will be passed on to the guest.
What if the Ferry is Cancelled
  1. If your scheduled sailing is cancelled you will be able to travel on the subsequent sailing.
  2. In the unlikely event that your scheduled sailing is cancelled and all subsequent sailings that day are cancelled:
    1. If you arrive the following day we will refund the missed night's stay or allow you to shift your entire booking back by one night, subject to availability
    2. If you choose not to come you have the following options:
      1. We can provide you with an Invoice which you can use to make a claim on your travel insurance.
      2. We will put a credit on your account equal to your booking charge, less an administration charge of £20, so that you can use it at a later date. If unused this credit will expire after one year.
Damage to Hotel Property

We reserve the right to charge guests for the cost of rectifying any damage caused by the deliberate, reckless or negligent act of the guest to any Arran Hotel's property.

Guests will be charged £10.00 for the loss of any hotel keys.

Vehicles

All vehicles parked in the hotel car park are parked at the owner's risk.

Liability

Whilst every effort is made to fulfil any particular requests which you may have in relation to your stay with us, we cannot unfortunately guarantee that we will be able to meet any particular requests which you may make and our failure in this regard will not constitute a breach of contract.

Arran Hotels shall not be responsible for any loss or damage which you may suffer arising out of events beyond its control or the control of its suppliers (including, without limitation, fire, failure of electrical, gas or other power supplies, strikes, industrial action, terrorist activity, technical problems with transport, illness of entertainers and bad weather), nor for any curtailment, cancellation or change to any accommodation, activity or itinerary or any other consequences which arise as a result of such events.

For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in these terms and conditions shall operate to attempt to exclude or limit the Arran Hotel's liability for the death or personal injury of any person caused by the negligence of the Company or its employees, servants or agents or to attempt to exclude or limit the Company's liability in any manner which would be unlawful.

Policies

Every effort has been made to help you enjoy your stay. We would welcome any feedback on your experience and are happy to assist with any queries.

The Glenisle Hotel has a no smoking policy and guests found to be smoking may be asked to leave and/or charged for the cost of dry cleaning any affected soft furnishings and for any loss of income suffered because of any necessary airing of their room.

Only hotel guests are allowed in rooms after 9:00pm.

Because unforeseen events can arise, we strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance which will cover any costs should you need to postpone or cancel your booking. We will not be responsible for any costs or losses incurred by you if you are unable to travel or complete your journey.

There are no pets allowed in the building.

Data Protection

Arran Hotels Ltd. is registered under the Data Protection Act 1998 and complies with the Act in all our dealings with your personal data. Information you provide to us will only be used by Arran Hotels and its subsidiaries. We may process personal information about you if you ask us to add your name to our mailing list so that we can keep you informed of seasonal promotions.

Your contract with us shall be subject to the laws of Scotland.
